Mojo Monday Sketch Blog

2007 - 2008 Sketches

Recently there have been a lot of questions about where you can go to download the sketches from previous years. Over the past year I've had many not-so-nice emails and anonymous comments about my not updating the master file of sketches frequently enough.

Since these files take quite a bit of time to format and I do this all in my very rare patches of free time, in between running a business by myself, I have decided to no longer offer the sketches in a master PDF file. Instead, on the first Monday of each month I will link a PDF of the previous month's sketches. The links will remain in the sidebar, so you can print each month individually.

I will not be providing any of the previous sketches from 2007-2008 in printable format. You can see all of the Mojo Monday sketches as a FlickR slideshow or by clicking this link. You can also see them in their original posts on the Poetic Artistry blog. I've included instructions below on how to make your own sketchbook by saving the pictures and printing them with the Windows Photo Printer wizard. Sorry Mac users, I don't know if there's a similar feature for Macs.

Please, as a courtesy to me and the MANY hours and prizes I pour into this challenge each month do not PM, email me or leave comments on the blog about the FlickR slide show not being updated or not being able to find the previous sketches in PDF. I'm a busy girl and will eventually add the most recent sketches to FlickR, if it's not up to date when you're here.

Thanks in advance for your respect.

Here's a handy little way to print multiple sketches using Microsoft Window's built in Photo Printer function. My instructions are for Windows Vista. In Windows XP a Wizard will pop up to step you through the printing process, but it still works the same.

1. Save each picture to your hard drive by right clicking on the picture and choosing Save As.

2. Using Windows Explorer (could also be a link in your start menu called My Documents or Documents), go find the pictures on your hard drive and select the ones you'd like to print by clicking on the first picure, holding the shift key and clicking on the last picture. (If you want to pick and choose pictures to print, then hold down the Control key while you click all the pictures you'd like to print.) Each picture you selected should now be highlighted. Right click with your mouse (making sure you click in an area that is highlighted, otherwise you're selections will be deselected) and choose Print (or there may be a printer icon you can click).

3. You'll just see a Print Pictures window showing one of your pictures. From the options down the side, choose a size you'd like for your sketches to be. I prefer wallet size, since I can fit 9 to a page, but if you want closer to full size, choose 3.5 x 5" (4 to a page). Once you choose a size, you should now see the first page of sketches in your view. I always uncheck the box that says Fit pictures to frame, so they won't be distorted. Then just click Print and you'll have your own little custom sketchbook.
